fenella davies

Bold geometric designs and abstract compositions are the central basis of my quiltmaking.  I like to utilise to the full the medium in which I work - rough linen fabrics, raw & torn edges, visible stitches - and combine this with an overlay of dyes and paints.  I work in series - sometimes three or four at a time - usually one series leads to another.

I made my first piece of embroidery aged 12 - moved on to designing and marketing toys - then on to embroidering small landscape pictures and wallhangings - by this time the need to work BIG took over, and the rest, as they say, is history.....................
